This aftershave is created as an alternative to other aftershaves, which are manufactured using denaturated alcohol and essential oils.

The alcohol content in the aftershave is up to 70%, and its quality is a very important factor, especially for sensitive skin; the commonly used denaturated alcohol (Denat.) is synthesized from petrochemical sources (by default classified as non food-grade) and is mixed with artificial additives disgusting to taste, which prevent this alcohol to be taken internally and exclude the manufacturers from payment of Excise Duty.

The Salubrity Scents policy is that we would not put anything on our skin which we would not be prepared to swallow, as our skin absorbs and delivers into our blood stream a big part of what we apply on it. Therefore, we only use natural food-grade alcohol distilled at Puhoi Organic Distillery from quality New Zealand wine and pure artesian water; and this the type of alcohol Spiritus Vini (Lat.) which was traditionally used for aftershaves before the era of big industrialization.
